Guns and Jesus!
The other night Byron and I decided we needed to have a family home evening with the boys. Seeing how our boys are five years apart in age we tend to do two different lessons. We started with Max who is totally into guns right now. I felt like Max needed to have the gun safety talk because he is over at a lot of different homes and I wanted to be sure he knew what to do. I think it went well although he was obsessed with pinning down Byron on what age he needed to be in order to shoot a gun. Anyway, we then moved on to the lesson for Zac. We talked about repentance and forgiveness and how we need to be like Jesus and forgive people and always say we're sorry. Of course, by the time we were done with that lesson Max was restless and ready to move on to the game portion of the night. So we finished up by asking the boys what we had learned about and Max with a drawn out voice and eyes rolling said, "Guns and Jesus." I wonder if that lesson is in the Family Home Evening manual?

You sound like great parents. Great post. Thanks for making me smile.
At least he got the order right: he could have said "Jesus and Guns."
I think it's a classic Max quote and sounds like both boys got both messages. Hey, that's 100%!
I just want to know where you got the picture, "nuns and guns"? It went along very well with the lesson. All you need to do now is submit it for the next FHE manual...

That picture is all time! How did you get that...google "jesus and guns"? Max is hilarious. On a side note...are you going to hook my blog up or what?! :)
This is the funniest post! I am laughing so hard right now! That picture is classic! I also would like you to "hook up my blog" it needs a little update.
So you had already told me that story, but I told Trevor and he was dying!! Can you imagine a lesson in a manual titled "Guns and Jesus." Hilarious!
Heather what is your email address so I can get you the info for my blog?
oh Heather you make me laugh. Your kids are so great and I love the classic lines that come from Max! Keep us laughing.
I vote to have f.h.e. with your family! You had us laughing! We can't wait to see you all in February!
This is a classic Maxisum!!! But where did you get that picture! I miss you guys hope to see you soon.
Not to get you too excited about another comment from me, but I just have to say I love the blog! :) You can mess with it any time you like. It's a fun little surprise to click on it and see it change. I love it! Thanks a bunch!
Guns and Jesus goes to together like peas and carrots. This one is HI-larious! I am addicted to the blogs, and will probably need a 12 step program to pull me away once I am sitting and flipping through everyones blog. Love you! Aunt Donna
I am just glad to see you are teaching the Utah way. It is the only state that has a law allowing guns in church!! Good for Max he is getting the program down, and your never to young to shoot. Great blog!!
H-You told me this story at lunch today, but I had to read the post! It is soo funny. I can just see Max's face and his rolling eye's. I totally love your kids. What a crack-up. I love it. Oh, notice that Jas has a blog now and the link is on mine. It is really cute.
