This weekend was UEA so we decided to head south to Bryce Canyon. We had yet to hit this National Park and it is on our list of Parks to see. So we rented a hotel room near the entrance. Packed us and my niece and nephew Kate and Marshall in the van and spent three days at Bryce. It was a great weekend. The weather was perfect for hiking and Bryce is gorgeous. The kids had fun hiking and of course swimming in the hotel pool. I was a little worried Max would refuse to hike because as we entered the park the park ranger said, "Welcome to the Park." Max of course picked up on the word park and exclaimed, "There's a park here? Awesome!" But with a little coaxing and a whole lot of stops to throw rocks off the side he made it. We've decided that National Parks are the way to go for a family trip. We always enjoy ourselves when we go, and there aren't many excuses to not go when we live so close. Yeah for UEA.

Heather those are great pictures!! I can't thank you enough for taking my kids, I wouldn't have those sweet pictures of me in South Carolina if you didn't have these sweet pictures of my kids in Bryce!! You are the best sister EVER!! (Sorry Amber, you are too) I know that if you lived here you have taken them also (maybe not on vacation to Bryce Canyon with your five kids, but you would have taken them to your house I am sure). Again, H- you didn't have to take my kids on vacation with you, but they haven't stopped taking about it, so THANK YOU!!
I have never been to Bryce, those pictures are amazing!!! Emily is right you are a wonderful sister. I watched my sisters 3 kids for a week while they went on a cruise...but I dont think I would ever survive taking them on a vacation with me. :) Hey do you ever keep in touch with Tonya Stuart, Stepanie Harris and the rest of the clan? Just wondering where everyone is. Have a great Halloween!
Wow!!That looks like so much fun. You are a great sister. So when are you going to take my kids on vacation?! Madison heard what I was posting and said, "She already did, she took us to the zoo." They are easily pleased. Thanks for always being willing to take the kids. And YES if I was closer I would help with kids more often. We miss everyone, and are excited to see you soon.
Oh wait taking my kids to the zoo was likely more work that taking Emily's kids to Bryce!! Thanks again for teaching my kids about nature and animals.
Heather I can't believe that you are not going to tell the story of when Max had a "side of the road," stop?? I've been laughing all day about that one!!! Anyway, you were very brave to take all those children on such a wonderful trip. Kudos to both you and Byron.
You don't have to sell us on National Parks...we think they're pretty groovy.
